Course Description

This eight-hour hands-on workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of graphic design with a practical focus on social media and digital content creation. Delivered over two sessions of two hours each, the workshop covers visual thinking, core design principles, typography basics, colour theory, and grid-based layout  all within an accessible, beginner-friendly format. Each topic is paired with a live activity, from critiquing sample designs and redesigning social posts to creating colour palettes and producing Instagram content using proper grid alignment. The workshop is strategically positioned as an awareness and introductory experience, equipping participants with the skills to produce two to three polished posts and a foundational design vocabulary. It serves as the first step in a progressive learning pathway, with the option to advance into a portfolio-based full certification programme. Participants receive a Workshop Participation Certificate from Embark College upon completion.
